2009 OVERVIEW

2009 was another great year for Team Lumpini, with successes in Thai Boxing, MMA and K1. It was also a year of transition with many of our students/fighters moving to new areas and many more new students joining us. Additionally to the fighters success this year, there has been much achieved by our non fighters in terms of improved technique, fitness and for some amazing weight loss.

2009 also saw the launch of Capital Punishment 'War on the Shore' showcasing the talent of fighters at Oceana, Southampton and becoming a very popular calendar fixing.

Highlights of our fight team for the year.

First we had the CP 1st March event, where our fighters all took victory (Rachel Clark, Simon Eastwood, Lee Taylor and Dan Hope).

Our Amatuer MMA League team fought off tough competition from teams across the UK throughout the year, to be crowned the UK MMA League Club Champions in May 2009.

Dan Hope continued his success in Pro MMA, gaining another 3 wins by stoppage and just one loss this year.

Lee Taylor took another 2 KO wins in Thai Boxing with just one loss and a draw in a tough fight in his first pro MMA fight.

Simon Eastwood gained 4 out of 4 wins this year and was crowned the new Capital Punishment Southern Area Champion.

Many new fighters making their debuts and our novice fighters continuing to build their fight careers, it has been a great year.
