****RACHEL WINS AT WOKING****
WPKL LADIES SOUTHERN AREA TITLE
Rachel is crowned the new WPKL Ladies Southern Area Champion at 60KG. The fight took place at the HG Wells Centre in Woking on September 10th. It was a rematch against Jenny Sawyer of Newbury Thai Boxing Gym following their first bout in February.
It was a hard fight over 5 x 2mins rounds. Rachel took the first two rounds with an aggressive display of punches, kicks and knees and it looked like Rachel was going to take the fight early! Jenny was a much improved fighter and a extremely tough girl who came into the fight looking conditioned and fit. Jenny started coming back at Rachel in third round and then dominated the 4th when Rachel had tired. With Sean, Simon and Chris in her corner Rachel was pushed on and came back with an onslaught of punches in the 5th to take the fight.
It was an excellent fight of which both girls showed tremendous skill, strength and courage.
CONGRATULATIONS TO RACHEL - WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU!

Rachel Climbs Kilimanjaro - Oct 06
In October 2006, Lumpini Instructor Rachel and her sister Lucy reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in aid of the Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Rachel suffered from Acute Mountain Sickness from day 2, so had a tough time in getting to the top, but both the girls made it. They are still collecting donations for their charities, so if you still yet to donate, please visit their website. You can also take a look at some of their photo's and Rachel's diary.

It has been a long wait, so thank you for all those of you who have been waiting for our new gym to open. We have been so frustrated with the our opening delay, which has been held up by unforeseen legal delays. Finally, all legal paperwork will be completed on the 22nd November 2006, so we will then be spending a couple of weeks furnishing the gym. The gym will be ready mid/late December. However, with Christmas fast approaching, and this being a quiet time for gym attendance, the gym will be officially open January 1st 2007.
"Lumpini Gym (Hampshire) are currently securing a new premises that will be turned into a full time thai boxing and fitness centre in the heart of Southampton."
Here is an overview of what will be on offer, further details to be published nearer the gym opening.
Facilities will include:

- Thai Boxing and Kick Boxing- beginners courses for adults, women only and juniors. Intermediate and Advanced classes, Fighters Only classes.

- Boxing - with England ABA coach
- Martial Arts and Fitness circuit classes, ab classes and Kick/Thai Boxing fitness classes - women only, mixed and junior classes.
- Lunch Box classes - short classes for mid week workers to fit the lunch break
