Great results in Round 2 of the UK MMA league in Nottingham from the boys of Lumpini Southampton.
Dan Hope had 4 tough fights, lost one and drew his others. Nick Kazakos lost his first fight but came back in his second fight showing some great grappling, eventually tapping his guy out with a triangle. Dave McKenzie-Phillips put up a good fight, landing a sweet knee in the process, but was caught with a rear-naked-choke. His second opponent went AWOL and David was awarded the fight as a win. Fred Harrington's debut to the MMA league was a good one with him submitting his 2 opponents with a triangle and a RNC respectively. Michael Carroll caught his first opponent with a kneebar - but didn't manage to tap his guy out with it and drew. However, he won his next two fights with a triangle and a guillitine respectively.
Marco Crispini got stuck in to his fight but was disqualified for striking is opponent twice in the face - Well done everyone - Great fighting.

18th October 2008 - IFMA Amateurs, Cambridge
Results:
A mixed day for the Lumpini Gym, Michael Hawkins opponent failed to turn up, so Michael won by default under the IFMA rules. Rachel was up first and had a close fight with Claudia Celdar. Celdar and the KO Gym gave the trophy to Rachel at the end of the fight after they felt that she had won the fight. Ken Jones was up next and fought another very close fight, but just not enough to take the victory. Vikki Lewis put on a great performance against the agressive style of her opponent and won the first round, however at the end of round 1 we had to stop the fight as Vikki's nose was bleeding uncontrollably from an injury sustained in sparring a few weeks before. Finally, Simon Eastwood saved the day with an expressive win against his opponent.
